Stratford approves steel pre-fab shed
Stratford is going to allow a steel prefabricated shed to be built in a highly visible intersection, not only of roads but of land use.
Clair Jenkins is a venerable resident of Stratford, living at the corner of the Trans-Canada Highway and the Stratford Road.

On the other side of the Stratford Road from him are residential properties but his large wedge of land is agricultural in use and style.
Despite the current look and use of Jenkins' land, it is located in a commercial zone because on the other side of his land runs the Trans-Canada Highway by the Mason Road and Stratford Business Park. He asked Stratford if he could put up a steel, prefabricated, arch-design shed. The shed is not the kind of structure permitted in a commercial zone.
Council voted at its recent monthly meeting to allow the shed to be built anyway, but under strict and unique conditions.
"Materials used on the building side facing Stratford Road shall be in architectural harmony with the existing buildings, with shingles and windows," read Coun. Diane Griffin, who gave the planning and heritage committee report in the absence of Coun. Gary Clow.
