Marsh Harbor, Happy Hours, and a Bit O'Green - Monk's Vineyard
3/14-3/17 – We raised anchor and were underway around 1:00 p.m. We planned to go to Marsh Harbor, but with a stop at Sandy Cay to do some snorkeling. However, the winds were in the teens out of the east and it was way too choppy to stop for snorkeling, so we pressed on to Marsh Harbor. We had a bit of a lumpy ride as we passed the North Bar Channel and the Pelican Cays area, but by 4:00 we were in Marsh Harbor and safely anchored next to Peter and ThaiLyn on Pelican Rose . Marsh Harbor is pretty much the cruising headquarters for this part of the Abacos. Many boats come for the winter and never leave, except maybe to take cruises in the triangle area either over to Hope Town or Man-O-War. Marsh Harbor is best for provisioning and supplies, Hope Town for its quaint beauty and Man-O-War for its boat building, peacefulness and simplicity. Egg Harbor Township People in the News - Edition of Dec. 29, 2011
Fran Luthke was treated to a surprise party on her 90th birthday. The Egg Harbor Township resident is an avid bowler and her friends hosted her party at King Pin Lanes on Dec. 22.
Mary Ann Kline won first place in the Le Petite Art Show at Ocean City Fine Arts League Gallery held in early December. Kline won for her oil painting titled, “Yellow House.”
Saye Nessa , a neuroscience student at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., was among the legions of scientists to present research during a recent conference of the Society for Neuroscience at the college. Scientists from around the world gather to present research on topics spanning every segment of the discipline, from molecular and physiological work to robotics and prosthetics. On Dec. 14, Nessa and her team presented research on the organization of fingers during grasping. The group worked with their professors to design and produce a glove that permits exact recording of finger movements.
